Just $600 pays for one librarian's annual salary.
We are looking for volunteer fundraisers to help get the library started. Wherever you are, whatever you do – you can help raise funds for the children of Myanmar. Email us at info@banyanreading.org for more information.
Send your old books, or buy a book you loved and send to us in Australia. Please don't think of this as a chance to get rid of books you hated or never read. We don't need academic texts from 1950, or your oldest cookbooks. If you didn't want to read it, neither will they!
What books do we want?
The library will primarily target 3 – 18 year olds whose first language is not English.
A smaller part of the library will target older readers, so adult fiction / non-fiction books are also welcome.

Books about politics. Politics in Myanmar are a sensitive issue. Note: Any donated books that cannot be sent into Myanmar will be sold online and the proceeds used towards the library.
What condition do books need to be in?
We don't need books to be in perfect condition, but if pages are missing, they won't be much use! Old books are welcome, provided they aren't more than 5 years out of date.
Where do you send books?
We have the drop points below. If you live outside these ares, you can purchase a book online and have it sent to the Bangkok drop point.

Run your own fundraiser to help build a new library for Yangon. Contact your local library, school, restaurant and work with them to fund raise together.
