Banyan Tree Reading Centre runs a non-profit children's library in Myanmar's old capital, Rangoon (Yangon). The library provides Burmese and English children's books to the public. The Reading Centre also has a children's art and play area to provide an affordable place for children to play, read and learn.
Banyan Tree Reading Centre's key goal is to encourage early literacy in Burmese and English languages, alongside well developed information literacy skills and a love of reading.
Library services include:
Children's Library: English and Myanmar children’s books, young readers, young adult readers, early childhood games and TOYS!
Weekly Storytelling: English and Myanmar storytelling every Saturday at 11am.
Literacy Activities: Monthly painting, craft, drama, music and storytelling days, showing children the different ways we can tell a story.
Literacy Classes: English and Myanmar literacy classes.
