MONEY: Banyan Tree Reading Centre is looking for donations to assist in setting up the project. We need US$30,000 to establish the library, fit-out the building, stock it with books, and cover running costs for the first year. We are aiming for the library to be self-sustainable within one year. Costs will be covered by only 1,000 members -- far below the membership rates of the two other libraries in Rangoon (Yangon).
BOOKS: We are also running a book drive to stock the library (see How You Can Help).
8 September 07- We are open! Come in and start borrowing books. Bring your children. Thanks to all those who helped make it happen.

Buy a membership Each $5 buys a one-year membership for a Myanmar student who cannot afford membership.
Volunteer We are looking for people to work as volunteer fundraisers to help get our library started.
